Useful SQL statements in IM&G - Examples for Vibe, Filr, SMG, GMS, Retain
Speaker: Diethmar Rimser, Netagents

Slides

Video Link
"OpenText offers a lot of powerful tools to survive daily IT requests. My corner is IM&G: Filr, Secure Message Gateway, Retain, GroupWise Mobility Server and much more. In many cases administrators and users will be supported to get the right information. Who has shared information? Which policy works for inbound mails? However sometimes we need additional information which will not delivered by Filr, Retain or SMG. How many external accounts do I have in Filr? Which item has oversized my SMG quarantine? Fortunately almost all products use SQL databases in the background: PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL, ... So if the is SQL, we will find a way to dig for information. In this session I will show you different examples for useful SQL statements. I will jump from product to product and pick out some interesting questions and request. SQL statements will do it! Usually there are (almost) no limits."

Secure Message Gateway - Use of SQL statements to create documentation
Speaker: Diethmar Rimser, Netagents

Slides

Video Link
"Secure Message Gateway is a great tool to protect your mailing system (by the way SMG is not GroupWise focused!). Its variability and flexibility makes it easy to fulfil almost all requests. Policies are your drivers, policies will deliver what you want. Almost the whole configuration will be made in a graphical user interface. You can create filters, services and exceptions. Their relationships will empower your mail protection. But just now there is no way to put your configuration on paper. Yes, you can do screenshots. But there are different graphic layers in the background. Fortunately all information is stored in SQL databases and their tables. Our virtual appliance even offers a simple way to access databases: phpPgAdmin. This is our chance to get the right information and to put settings and relations on paper. In this session I will use phpPgAdmin to get values, find relationships and export data into csv files."
